Sheek Geek: Content Creator Logo and Brand
A content creator with a focus on fashion, makeup, and crafts. She needed a logo for social media profile icons, headers, banners, and potential merchandise.
The Sheek Geek name has evolved over several years. Several years ago, she used Always Stargazing, or Stargazer for her entire social media presence.
When she decided to create a new set of profiles to specifically align with her interests in fashion and makeup integrated with crafts, she chose the name Chic Geek. She found many of her followers were unaware of the pronunciation of Chic, so to make it easier to pronounce, she changed her name to Sheek Geek, also preferring the visual rhyme as much as the audible one.
When she came to me for a logo, she wanted to integrate space visuals as an homage to her Stargazer handles, as well as her obsession with sparkles and glitter. She also said she liked bright neons and purples.
Originally designed in black and white, the logo uses negative and positive space to incorporate the initials (s and g) into a bespectacled face. The cool “chic” hair and the “geeky” yet classic glasses combine with pouty lips and a raised eyebrow to tell the story of this content creator’s attitude and aesthetic.
The logotype includes a subtle nod to the fact that Chic is misspelled by using subtle breaks in the font’s characters to hide the correct spelling in the word.
